Central Stairs

After much internal debate and back and forth, I’ve decided to simplify the up/down movement in beards. Previously, the player would be responsible for ensuring that the mountain home was “well connected”. But the many different rooms that you could have began to stress the logic behind what could be built where, and policing it for the player began to become cumbersome.

So, simple is best. The central tiles will be reserved for stairwell type rooms. These rooms will also be able to have extra things, like gardens, fountains or other value-enhancing bits. All-in-all, this helps tie the entire system together – having one way up/down will help on the strategic level as well – though I can see goblins digging up through other bits of the map.
